I typically paint from photographs or from a two dimensional image. The title of this piece will be “Come on Alexandra”. The photo is of a friend and fellow artist, Alexandra Thomas. Alex had just emptied her studio apartment. She climbed inside a suitcase— the only thing left in her apartment. I frequently take photos of moments that seem to aesthetically captivate me with the intention of later painting them.
